Overview
3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) is one of the important solutions to minimize waste and resource usage. We encourage the community to apply the 3R principles in daily life, from reducing the amount of waste generated in daily activities, finding ways to reuse materials, to recycling in order to lessen negative impacts on the environment and resources.
Action
Minimization is the best way to reduce waste. We can minimize waste by shopping mindfully, using reusable products, and limiting the use of single-use items.
Reuse is the practice of using items that have already been used again. Reusing helps reduce waste and save resources.
Recycling is the process of turning waste into raw materials for the production of new products. Recycling helps reduce waste and protect the environment.
Goals
- By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retailer and consumer levels, and reduce food losses along production and supply chains.
- By 2030, significantly reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
- Encourage companies, especially large and multinational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle.
- By 2030, reduce the per capita environmental impact, including paying special attention to air quality and urban waste management as well as other waste.
