The system promotes multilateral coordination among stakeholders such as governments, businesses, NGOs and communities. The Green System facilitates the building of sustainable partnerships and joint cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals.

The implementation of The Green System requires a change in people’s thinking and behavior. It encourages efficient waste treatment, the use of renewable energy sources, the construction of green urban areas and the protection of important ecological areas. Furthermore, the system also facilitates education and awareness creation to enable people to become smart and responsible consumers towards the environment.

Using renewable energy:The system uses renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Environmental protection:The system helps protect the environment, by reducing pollution and conserving natural resources.

Goals

  • Increase efforts to protect and preserve the world’s cultural and natural heritage.
  • By 2030, provide community access to safe green spaces around schools, in particular for women and children, older persons and persons with disabilities.
  • Strengthen resilience and adaptation to climate-related hazards and disasters in all countries.
  • Maintain climate change measures in national policies, strategies and planning.
  • Improve education, awareness raising and human and institutional capacity for climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.
  • Promote capacity building mechanisms effective planning and management related to climate change in rural, disadvantaged areas, including with a focus on women, youth, local and marginalized communities.
  • Promote sustainable management of all types of forests, halt deforestation, restore degraded forests and significantly increase afforestation and reforestation globally.
  • Mobilize and substantially increase financial resources from all sources for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystems
