A CAMPAIGN ORGANIZED BY THE YOUTH UNION – STUDENT ASSOCIATION AT NAM CAN THO UNIVERSITY TO RAISE AWARENESS OF PREVENTING AND COMBATING DENGUE FEVER

In 2023, the Nam Can Tho University’s Youth Union and Student Association launched a summer volunteer campaign with the goal of raising awareness of preventing and combating dengue fever. This campaign attracted the participation of 500 volunteer students from the university’s various faculties and majors.

In the context of the complex dengue fever situation in the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta region, this campaign holds significant importance and urgency. Volunteer students will visit each household in the area to provide information on preventive measures against the disease and how to handle it if contracted.The campaign aims to raise community awareness of dengue fever and prevention, thereby reducing the number of cases in the Mekong Delta region. Additionally, the campaign encourages volunteer spirit and social responsibility among students, helping young people develop soft skills and gain practical experience

The main components of the campaign include:

– Knowledge Dissemination: Explaining the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures against dengue fever.

– Flyer Distribution: Distributing flyers containing essential information about dengue fever to each household.

– Environmental Hygiene Support: Instructing residents on environmental hygiene practices, including preventing mosquitos from breeding.

– Direct consultation: Student groups will directly advise local residents on health protection measures during the epidemic.

With enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility, the volunteer students have made significant contributions to the prevention and control of dengue fever, bringing health and happiness to the community. Additionally, the campaign fosters a sense of connection and sharing between students and the community, building a positive image of Vietnamese youth in the hearts of the people.
