SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS – SERVING THE COMMUNITY OF THE FACULTY OF LAW AT NAM CAN THO UNIVERSITY

The Faculty of Law, Nam Can Tho University is tasked with training legal groups at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conducting legal scientific research, and serving the community. Since its establishment, the Faculty of Law has carried out numerous meaningful community service activities with practical significance to meet Sustainable Development Goals at Nam Can Tho University. Notable activities include:

1. LEGAL DISSEMINATION AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES
   Legal dissemination and education activities are regular activities of the Faculty of Law. Among these, the organization of mock trials is a frequent activity that serves both as an extracurricular academic activity and a form of legal dissemination and education activities. The mock trials handle criminal, civil, and economic cases based on real case files. These events have attracted a large number of students from various majors within and outside the university. Through these mock trials, participants are introduced to, disseminated, and explained the regulations related to the cases, thereby raising legal awareness, deterring legal violations, and reducing crime in society. 2. CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES SERVING THE COMMUNITYIn recent years, the Faculty of Law has consistently completed tasks of supervising and inspecting the national high school graduation exams as assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training. Every year, faculty members engage in donation activities to support flood victims in Central Vietnam, support the poor, and contribute to Covid-19 prevention and control efforts. Additionally, during holidays and Tet, the Law Faculty’s Youth Union organizes various meaningful charity programs such as “Tet for the Poor,” “Mid-Autumn Festival for Children,” and “Children’s Day” to spread love and help those in difficult circumstances.    The Faculty of Law, Nam Can Tho University has always been concerned with helping students with difficult circumstances, helping them pursue their education and achieve their dreams. The Faculty has mobilized businesses and philanthropists to award hundreds of scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and challenges in their studies and achieved good results.

   

   2.2. Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations for Children

   Every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Faculty of Law’s Youth Union collaborates with local Youth Unions to host festive programs for children in disadvantaged areas, sharing love and joy with those in difficult circumstances. The program includes giving meaningful gifts to children.

   

   2.3. Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2023
   The summer volunteer campaign is an annual activity of the Youth Union in general and the Faculty of Law’s Youth Union in particular, showcasing the enthusiasm of young people. During each campaign, the Faculty of Law conducts various community service activities such as building rural roads, repairing houses for poor households, cleaning roads, parks, and canals, providing legal education and consultations for the poor, activating digital personal identification accounts for citizens, and giving gifts to those in difficult circumstances. These community service activities help develop students’ courage and sense of responsibility towards themselves, their families, and society.

   

   2.4. “Green Sunday” Program

   “Ngày Chủ nhật xanh” là hoạt động thường niên và thường xuyên của Đoàn Khoa Luật với ý nghĩa chung tay xây dựng môi trường xanh – sạch – đẹp. Thông qua hoạt động trước là giáo dục đến mỗi ĐVTN của đơn vị, sau là góp phần tuyên truyền, vận động người dân đổ rác đúng nơi quy định, giữ gìn vệ sinh, không vứt rác bừa bãi… từng bước hình thành nếp sống văn minh, có trách nhiệm hơn với môi trường của mỗi cá nhân trong xã hội. Hoạt động được sự ghi nhận của chính quyền địa phương đặc biệt là nhân dân phường An Khánh, mang đến hình ảnh sinh viên DNC nói chung và Thanh niên khoa Luật nói riêng nhiệt huyết, xung kích vì cộng đồng. Bảo vệ môi trường, bảo vệ ngôi nhà chung của nhân loại. Vì màu xanh của trái đất, vì màu xanh trong trái tim.
