DNC – Nam Can Tho University highlights important notes for independent candidates (free candidates) who wish to apply for admission in 2024!
Independent candidates (including those who have graduated from high school or vocational schools) must register their personal information using the Application Form at the designated registration point (as regulated and guided by the Department of Education and Training in their local area).
Steps Candidates Must Follow
Register and confirm personal information
Step 1: Download the registration form, fill in all information, and attach a 4×6 photo.
Step 2: Bring the completed form to the local People’s Committee or police office (where you permanently or temporarily reside) for verification and stamping.
Step 3: Submit the verified form to the designated registration point (District/City Continuing Education and Vocational Centers) to receive an account on the MOET centralized admission system. Bring your original Citizen ID and high school transcript for verification.
The registration period is from July 1, 2024 to July 20, 2024.
After completing personal registration, candidates will be provided with an admission account to use for registering university application preferences.

Admission Methods
Option 1: (based on the average scores of Grade 10, Grade 11, and the first semester of Grade 12):
- Average = (Grade 10 yearly GPA + Grade 11 yearly GPA + Grade 12 semester 1 GPA)
- Minimum requirement: Average score ≥ 18.0
Option 2: (based on the average scores of 3 selected subjects in Grade 12):
- Average = (Grade 12 GPA of Subject 1 + Subject 2 + Subject 3)
- Minimum requirement: Average score ≥ 18.0
Option 3: (based on the overall average GPA of Grade 12):
- Average = Grade 12 yearly GPA
- Minimum requirement: GPA ≥ 6.0
✨ Note for Health Sciences majors:
For Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, students must have Grade 12 academic performance rated as Excellent or a High School Graduation Score ≥ 8.0.
For Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Preventive Medicine, Nursing, students must have Grade 12 academic performance rated at least Good or a High School Graduation Score ≥ 6.5.
Minimum requirement: Based on the 2024 National High School Exam results, the University Admission Council will determine the eligibility threshold.
For Health Sciences majors, the minimum requirement will follow the thresholds announced by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). The university will publish detailed thresholds for these majors on its website after MOET’s official announcement.
Admission based on the 2024 Competency Assessment Test organized by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Eligibility: Candidates must have graduated from high school and taken the 2024 Competency Assessment Test organized by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Minimum requirement: Based on the 2024 Competency Assessment Test results, the University Admission Council will determine the eligibility threshold (details will be announced on the university’s website once results are available).
Supplementing Application Documents
After applying online at https://dkxettuyen.nctu.edu.vn, candidates must also register on the official MOET admission portal (https://tuyensinh.moet.gov.vn) and submit additional documents as required by the university. The period for application and processing preferences is from July 18 to July 30, 2024.
In 2024, Nam Can Tho University offers 42 undergraduate programs across the following fields: Health Sciences, Economics & Management – Social Sciences & Humanities, Tourism – Hospitality – Restaurant Management, Engineering & Technology, Architecture – Construction & Environment. The university offers 2,000 scholarships with 30% tuition fee reduction for the first semester to the first 2,000 students who enroll early.
