1. Green Campus
Nam Can Tho University (DNC) places strong emphasis on developing and maintaining a green campus environment, creating a fresh and friendly space for learning and daily activities. A wide variety of shade trees, flower beds, and lawns are harmoniously arranged along internal roads, near lecture halls, dormitories, and administrative areas. These green features not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the campus but also help reduce dust, regulate temperature, and improve air quality.
In addition to greenery, the university has designed water regulation ponds and landscaped areas to balance the microclimate, mitigate flooding during heavy rains, and add dynamic highlights to the campus landscape. These ponds and scenic areas also serve as habitats for various aquatic species and birds, contributing to biodiversity right within the university grounds.
Furthermore, DNC has designated multiple outdoor areas equipped with stone benches, shaded structures, and paved walkways to support relaxation and academic discussions for both students and faculty. The integration of green spaces, water features, and outdoor activity areas has helped
shape a school environment that is in harmony with nature—aligned with the university’s vision of becoming a “Green – Friendly – Sustainable” institution.
The campus has been extensively greened with more than 2,000 large trees, featuring a diverse selection of shade trees, flowering plants, and shrubs. Lawns and gardens are interwoven with walkways, creating a vibrant and refreshing atmosphere throughout the university.
Water regulation ponds and decorative water features contribute to temperature regulation and enhance air quality. Green spaces and water features are regularly maintained and serve as key highlights in the overall campus architecture, contributing to the image of a green and friendly university.
