“The Ao Dai Fashion Show DNC 2024” – A Capstone Event by Class DH21QTD01 at Nam Can Tho University

DNC – “The Ao Dai Fashion Show DNC 2024” was organized by the Tourism and Hospitality Management Class 01, Cohort 9, at Nam Can Tho University as the capstone event for their Event Organization course. The program honored the graceful elegance of the áo dài, Vietnam’s iconic national attire

The áo dài has long been a cultural symbol for Vietnamese people, a must‑have garment at significant national and traditional events. While evolving through generations, it has retained its timeless elegance, enhancing the grace and subtlety of Vietnamese women.

Key highlights of the show included:
  • Historical progression showcase: The class presented the evolution of the áo dài—from casual everyday wear to modern cultural icon.
  • Creative manual art elements: Students hand‑painted iconic Vietnamese landmarks and tourism imagery onto the áo dài, integrating heritage and artistry.
  • Model runway and red carpet: A professional setup by students impressed audiences and created strong emotional resonance.

The performance featured the mini-drama “The Story of the Vietnamese Áo Dài” and several themed collections:

  • “Can Tho in My Heart” – by Class DH21QTD01
  • “Ngu Moc” – by designer Tran Thanh Tong
  • “Uom Mam Dang Viet” – by designer Vo Linh
  • “Lien Sac Phuong Nam” – by designer Nguyen Tuan

Through these collections and performances, students aimed to promote the áo dài’s enduring beauty, showcasing its elegant and graceful qualities while highlighting Vietnamese tourism to a broader audience.

As part of their curriculum, these final-year students applied classroom knowledge to real-world event management—from concept development, scripting, sponsorship procurement, budgeting, to marketing strategy—demonstrating practical organization skills and creative thinking.
