Scholarships – Accompanying Students, Moving Steadfastly Towards the Future at Nam Can Tho University

SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS AT NCTU

1. Entrance Scholarships for New Students

NCTU offers 2,000 entrance scholarships, each providing a 30% tuition reduction for Semester I to the first cohort of newly enrolled students. In addition, the University awards the Top Entrance Valedictorian Scholarship, valued at 15,000,000 VND per recipient. Candidates who achieve a minimum score of 18 points in Grade 12, Semester I, are also eligible for a 30% tuition reduction for Semester I.

The university honored and awarded the top female entrant of the 12th cohort, VÕ THỊ TƯỜNG VY, in the Medicine program, with a scholarship valued at 15,000,000 VND.

2. Scholarship for Female Students

• Scholarship value: 15,000,000 VND per recipient
• Eligibility: Female students pursuing majors in the fields of Engineering and Technology, where women are traditionally underrepresented

Although female students represent a small proportion in the fields of Engineering and Technology, they have consistently demonstrated their unique strengths through meticulousness, creativity, and innovative thinking. With this scholarship, NCTU aims to encourage women to pursue their passions with confidence, strive to become engineers and technology professionals, and assert their role in these dynamic fields. The University strongly believes that, equipped with knowledge and determination, female students will achieve significant accomplishments and be ready to contribute to society in the digital era.

3. NCTU Gratitude Scholarship

• Children of war martyrs → 50% tuition reduction per semester
• Children of war invalids (categories 1/4, 2/4) → 30% tuition reduction per semester

4. NCTU Support Scholarship

• Students orphaned of both parents
• Students orphaned of either father or mother (with a certificate of poverty)
• Students from poor households (with a certificate of poverty)
• Students with severe disabilities (with official certification) – Eligible for a 20% – 30% tuition reduction per semester, depending on individual circumstances

5. NCTU Companionship Scholarship for Faculty and Staff

• NCTU lecturers, staff, and employees pursuing an additional Bachelor’s degree – 20% tuition reduction per semester
• Parents, spouses, and children of NCTU lecturers, staff, and employees – 20% tuition reduction per semester
• Siblings, spouses, and parent–child pairs studying together at the University – 15% tuition reduction per semester per person
• Children of Principals, Directors, Vice Principals, or Deputy Directors at high schools or continuing education centers – 15% tuition reduction per semester
• NCTU alumni pursuing an additional Bachelor’s degree at the University – 10% tuition reduction per semester
• Students whose parents or siblings are NCTU alumni who have graduated – 10% tuition reduction per semester
• NCTU lecturers, staff, and employees pursuing postgraduate studies (Master’s or Doctoral programs) – 25%–75% tuition reduction when studying at the University

6. Scholarships for Compatriot Students from Quang Nam

• Students from Quang Nam Province → 15% tuition reduction per semester
• Students from Dai Loc District, Quang Nam Province → 20% tuition reduction per semester plus free dormitory accommodation

7. NCTU Student Pride Scholarship

• New students who achieve First, Second, or Third Prize in the National Excellent Student Examination or the National Science and Technology Competition – 80% tuition reduction per semester
• Candidates who achieve a Consolation Prize or higher in the National Excellent Student Examination or the National Science and Technology Competition – 50% tuition reduction per semester
• Candidates who achieve First, Second, or Third Prize in provincial or city-level Excellent Student Examinations or Olympic competitions – 50% tuition reduction per semester
• Candidates who win prizes in provincial or city-level talent competitions (culture, arts, or sports) – 50% tuition reduction per semester
• Candidates who are members of provincial-level sports teams – 50% tuition reduction per semester

8. Postgraduate Scholarships

• NCTU faculty and staff pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degrees – Eligible for special incentive policies
• Parents, children, and spouses of NCTU faculty and staff – 20% tuition reduction for the entire program
• NCTU alumni continuing directly to postgraduate studies after graduation – 15% tuition reduction for the entire program
• NCTU alumni who graduated more than one year prior and pursue postgraduate studies – 10% tuition reduction for the entire program

Flexible Loan Program “Study Now – Pay Later”: In collaboration with VietinBank to ease the tuition burden for students.
