Overview
Goal 6 aims to provide clean and easily accessible water for everyone, which is an essential part of the
world. Water scarcity, poor water quality,
and inadequate sanitation negatively impact food security, livelihood options, and educational opportunities
for poor families around the globe.
To achieve this goal, it is necessary to focus on improving water quality, reducing water scarcity, preventing
water pollution, and managing untreated
wastewater discharged into the environment.
With the mission of providing Vietnamese students access to an international-standard educational environment,
nurturing talent, and preparing students for
internationally-oriented university programs as well as global career opportunities in the future, NCTU
continuously
strives to enhance its facilities to better support an increasingly large-scale and diverse range of training
programs. At the same time, to create a spacious and
modern campus, clean water and environmental sanitation play a crucial role in NCTU’s sustainable development
journey.
In particular, the university has installed a water supply and consumption monitoring system, a wastewater
treatment system, a water reuse measurement system, and a
water pollution prevention system, providing free water for staff, lecturers, students, as well as parents and
visitors. In addition, NCTU also focuses on research in water treatment and efficient water use,
contributing to the protection of water resources and promoting sustainable development for the environment
and the community.
