Overview
Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) aims to promote a peaceful, democratic, just, equal, and
civilized society. It emphasizes the importance of peace and security for sustainable development.
SDG 16 seeks to address threats of war and violence, ensure access to justice for all, and build
effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels. NCTU has established fair and
strong institutional frameworks for organizations within the University such as the Trade Union
representing the voices of staff, lecturers, and employees; the Youth Union representing students;
and enterprises within the University representing the voice of employers.
These efforts have
created an open and inclusive space for dialogue. Everyone is respected, has equal rights and
opportunities, and can express their concerns and hold management accountable. By promoting
transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness within the organization, NCTU aims to build trust
and confidence among students, lecturers, staff, and the surrounding community.
