Overview
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15 aims to protect life on land, restore terrestrial
ecosystems, manage forest resources sustainably, combat desertification, halt and reverse land
degradation, and halt biodiversity loss.
Environmental protection of land is one of the urgent tasks to maintain and develop sustainable
life. Land environmental protection measures not only help minimize pollution but also make
important contributions to improving the quality of life.
NCTU has contributed to protecting land
resources by implementing extracurricular programs, through which all students are educated on
collecting solid waste, handling generated waste, and protecting the land environment where they
study. At the same time, the University promotes sustainable practices by integrating sustainability
into the curriculum, community education, and cooperation with agencies and organizations. This
approach raises awareness and promotes scientific research, thereby contributing to a sustainable
future for the University and the country in general.
