The DNC Social Work Club is seeking information and support for patient: Su Van Don, born in 1975, residing at Phung Thanh 1, Thot Not Ward, Thot Not District, Can Tho City. Mr. Don currently works as a street ice cream vendor.
Two months ago, Mr. Don experienced severe chest pain and was hospitalized at a hospital in Can Tho City for treatment. Doctors diagnosed him with acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), a critical condition requiring immediate coronary artery stent placement. However, due to his family’s difficult financial circumstances and inability to afford the full treatment cost, he opted for medication therapy instead.
After discharge, he was frequently tired, experienced chest tightness, and his work and daily activities were severely impacted.
Neighbors and family members have raised 30 million VND for his treatment. However, the expected treatment costs are significantly higher, and the family cannot currently manage the additional expenses.
Today, March 19, 2024, Mr. Don was admitted to the Cardiology and Cardiovascular Intervention Department at Nam Can Tho Medical Center with the following preliminary diagnosis:
- Old myocardial infarction (January 2024, treated with medication)
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Hypertension
- Angina pectoris
- Heart failure (under monitoring)
The patient has health insurance (BHYT). Tomorrow, March 20, 2024, he is scheduled for coronary angiography at the medical center.
