NCTU – On July 18-19, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, in coordination with related units, organized the scientific conference “PII – Positioning Innovation in Can Tho City’s Economic and Social Development and Towards Promoting Innovation in the Mekong Delta Region”
“Developing International-Level Human Resource Training in Science, Technology and Innovation in Can Tho City” under the direction of Can Tho City People’s Committee and the Ministry of Science and Technology; the event attracted over 500 delegates and more than 20 product exhibition booths at the conference.
The conference “PII – Positioning Innovation in Can Tho City’s Economic and Social Development and Towards Promoting Innovation in the Mekong Delta Region”:
- Attracted special attention from numerous organizations and individuals due to the practical nature and importance of the innovation theme for the economic and social development of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta
- The conference announced Can Tho City’s Provincial Innovation Index (PII) for 2023, analyzing the current situation and evaluating innovation activity results, sharing domestic and international experiences on innovation in economic and social development; this serves as a foundation for proposing appropriate solutions, policies, and orientations for developing the PII index to serve local economic and social development based on science, technology and innovation in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region.
The conference “Developing International-Level Human Resource Training in Science, Technology and Innovation in Can Tho City” focused on discussing these issues:
- The importance of international-quality human resources in enterprise development; The current state of enterprise demand for international-level human resources in science, technology and innovation; Bottlenecks of high-quality human resources in the context of international integration in the Mekong
- Simultaneously, discussing important issues related to developing international-level human resources in science, technology and innovation in the Mekong Delta in the context of the 0 Industrial Revolution.
Additionally, within the conference framework, there were exhibition activities showcasing products that realize innovation input and output indicators. This was also an opportunity for the Research and Development Institute of Medicinal Plants – Nam Can Tho University to exchange, learn and introduce high-quality science and technology products to units, enterprises, organizations and people in the Mekong Delta region. Through this, contributing to affirming the development potential and innovation in the field of science and technology of the university in particular and Can Tho City in general.
At this conference, the Research and Development Institute for Medicinal Materials – Nam Can Tho University participated in exhibiting products including:
- DNC NAMCTGU product: supports gout treatment from a combined extract of 3 medicinal herbs (Microcos tomentosa buds, Perilla leaves, and Turmeric rhizome);
- DNC GAN product: supports liver protection, detoxification and enhances liver function from a combined extract (Strychnos nux-vomica, Polyscias fruticosa leaves, and Turmeric rhizome);
- DNC AN ĐƯỜNG product: supports sugar metabolism, helps reduce the risk of high blood sugar, supports diabetes treatment from a mixed extract (Bitter melon, Mimosa pudica, and Turmeric);
- Dual antibacterial soap products DNC HANDWASH and DNC dry hand sanitizer that help clean hands and kill bacteria, moisturize hands bringing a smooth and soft feeling;
- SÂM ĐINH DNC product: from 6-year-old Polyscias fruticosa roots helps relieve tension and fatigue, when used in appropriate amounts helps nourish the body and strengthen
Currently, the Institute’s products have been licensed by the Ministry of Health for market circulation and are being sold at Nam Can Tho University Medical Center and national e- commerce platforms (Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, etc.).
In the coming time, the university will continue to research, develop and apply innovative policies in science and technology to create more quality, safe, effective and economical products to develop scientific research, meet market demands, and bring economic and social benefits.
