Nam Can Tho University Students Participate in Voluntary Blood Donation for Community Health

DNC – On September 22, Master Nguyen Nhat Truong – Director of Student Support & Business Cooperation Center, Secretary of the Youth Union of Nam Can Tho University announced that the Youth Union and Student Association had just collaborated with Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize the first Voluntary Blood Donation Festival of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Nearly 300 staf, teachers, and students of the university participated in the program. The activity was organized to commemorate major national holidays.

Through the voluntary blood donation movement, the program aims to promote the spirit of “mutual afection and love” and beautiful national traditions among staf, lecturers, employees, and students, meeting blood needs for emergency care and treatment at hospitals. The organization promoted and mobilized through various forms to attract a large number of staf, lecturers, and students to participate and respond to the voluntary blood donation campaign.

Voluntary blood donation has been a tradition for many years among staf, employees, and students of Nam Can Tho University. The university also pays great attention to and supports this activity through various forms such as propaganda, mobilization, and infrastructure support to contribute more blood units to the work of treating patients.

Over the years, the university’s voluntary blood donation movement has been implemented extensively and systematically, becoming an outstanding activity model that has made great contributions to the work and youth movement of the university’s Youth Union, demonstrating the spirit of pioneering, volunteering, compassion, profound humanity, cultural beauty, noble acts, and the feelings and responsibilities of young students at Nam Can Tho University for community health.

At the end of the program, the organizing committee collected 270 blood units to supplement the blood reserve for use in emergency care and treatment for patients.
