Nam Can Tho University Medical Center joins hands for community health: providing free medical check-ups and medicine to residents in Thoi Lai District

Health is the invaluable asset and foundation for the sustainable development of each individual and society. Acknowledging this essence, Nam Can Tho University Medical Center has always been at the front line of healthcare activities for the community, contributing to the growth of both the physical and mental well-being of citizens, and to a thriving future.

Continuing its journey of joining hands for community health, on June 23, 2024, Nam Can Tho University Medical Center, in collaboration with the Branch 5 of the Can Tho Newspaper Party Committee and the Thoi Lai District Women’s Union, organized the program “Free Medical Check-ups, Medicine Distribution, and Gift Giving for Local Residents” in the communes of Dong Binh, Dong Thuan, Thoi Tan, and Truong Thang, Thoi Lai District, Can Tho City. The program aimed to provide essential healthcare support for disadvantaged people, especially members of the Khmer ethnic community.

To ensure the efficiency of the program, Nam Can Tho University Medical Center mobilized a team of highly qualified, dedicated doctors, staff, and medical personnel to participate. The doctors enthusiastically provided health consultations, medical check-ups, and responded to the residents’ concerns. Local people received general health examinations, screening for cardiovascular, blood pressure, and dermatological conditions, as well as paraclinical tests, together with free medicine. Apart from the medical services, the program also offered gift packages to each participating household, helping lessen their daily difficulties.

The program “Free Medical Check-ups, Medicine Distribution, and Gift Giving” was carried out with the firmly held belief in bringing commitment to the community health. It also serves as a testament to the spirit of solidarity and compassion conveyed by the hospital’s staff and the partner organizations involved in the program.

Nam Can Tho University Hospital and the Organizing Committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to Branch 5 of the Can Tho Newspaper Party Committee and the Thoi Lai District Women’s Union for their close collaboration in successfully organizing this meaningful activity, which brought health and joy to local residents. Moving forwards, Nam Can Tho University Medical Center aspires to continue conducting many other impactful programs, joining hands with the local healthcare sector to improive the quality of medical services for the people, enhance community health, and contribute to the sustainable development of Can Tho.
