Nam Can Tho University awarded 500 scholarships to underprivileged students in Quang Nam Province

On the morning of November 30, Nam Can Tho University, in collaboration with the Quang Nam Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education, organized a scholarship award ceremony for underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties and achieved outstanding academic results in the province.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Trần Anh Tuấn, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee, and Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Phương, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam Province.

At the event, Nam Can Tho University awarded 500 million VND in scholarships to 500 outstanding students who have overcome difficulties during the 2024–2025 academic year. The recipients included students from primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools across districts, towns, and cities in the province.

Mr. Trần Văn Cận, Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education, shared that prior to this, Nam Can Tho University had also donated 500 million VND to Đại Lộc District to provide scholarships for underprivileged local students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Trần Anh Tuấn, expressed his gratitude for the generosity of Nam Can Tho University. Despite facing its own challenges, the university has devoted part of its budget resources to support educational development and talent promotion. He emphasized that these scholarships serve as meaningful encouragement for students to continue striving despite adversity, study diligently, and become valuable members of society.

He also expressed his hope that in the near future, Nam Can Tho University would have opportunities to socialize and share experiences with Quang Nam University, particularly regarding training major codes, training scale, and training quality.

Nam Can Tho University is well known for its strong track record in multidisciplinary education, offering a wide range of academic programs such as Pharmacy, English Language, Public Relations, Business Administration, Hotel Management, Civil Engineering, Law, and more. In the 2024 academic year, the university offers 42 undergraduate programs, 7 postgraduate programs, along with university transfer programs and work-study programs.
