During the program, a team of doctors, medical staff, and volunteers conducted general health check-ups, measured blood pressure, screened for common illnesses, provided nutritional advice, and gave instructions on proper medication use. A total of 30 policy beneficiary households received free medical examinations, medications, and support gifts.

The gift packages included essential goods and daily necessities, aiming to provide some support for the livelihoods of the households, especially given that many families in remote and rural areas still face significant challenges in terms of healthcare and economic conditions.

In addition to the medical activities, the delegation also visited homes to offer their regards, listen to the stories, and provide encouragement to policy beneficiary families. Many stories of the hardships and resilience during the arduous years of resistance were shared, helping the younger generation gain a deeper understanding of the true value of today’s independence and freedom.

A representative of the Organizing Committee shared:

“Today’s activity is not only about providing healthcare, but also a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to those who sacrificed and contributed to the nation. It is both a responsibility and a cherished tradition that the younger generation must continue to uphold.”

The program “Medical Check-ups, Free Medicine Distribution, and Gift Giving for Policy Beneficiary Families” is an annual activity organized by the Kien Giang Student Association and Nam Can Tho University Hospital. It has been maintained for many years across various localities. Beyond contributing to the improvement of community healthcare, the program also provides medical and pharmaceutical students with valuable practical experience, helping them develop professional skills and foster a strong sense of social responsibility.

This activity once again reaffirms the spirit of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Repaying gratitude”, which have long been cherished cultural values of the Vietnamese people. It also highlights the important role of student organizations and medical institutions in accompanying and supporting the community.
