DNC – On June 14, 2024, Nam Can Tho University (DNC) had the honor of welcoming Professor Neil Quigley – Rector of the University of Waikato (New Zealand), Chairman of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and Ms. Nguyễn Lam Giang – Director of Southeast Asia Cooperation, to carry out the signed agreement between Nam Can Tho University and the University of Waikato (New Zealand) from March 2024.
This meeting marked an important milestone in the international cooperation between the two universities, opening up numerous opportunities for comprehensive collaboration in education, healthcare, and research.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in detailed discussions regarding future collaboration initiatives. It was also an opportunity for representatives from both universities to better understand and familiarize themselves with each other. Currently, the University of Waikato, ranked as the top university in New Zealand and among the top 90 worldwide, offers access to high-quality, internationally standardized programs for students. The partnership programs focus on the strengths of both institutions, and joint training efforts will contribute to enhancing human resource quality, meeting socio-economic development needs, and supporting international integration.
The meeting was successfully conducted, promising long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration. Following the session at the university, Professor Neil Quigley and Ms. Nguyễn Lam Giang visited Nam Can Tho University Medical Center. During the visit, they were introduced by the hospital leadership to the facilities and equipment, as well as training and research collaboration programs and community development projects.
This event not only strengthens the international cooperation between the University of Waikato and Nam Can Tho University but also promises to bring tangible benefits, enhancing the quality of education and healthcare services in the Mekong Delta region, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s healthcare system.
