On the evening of September 13, 2024, the final round of the competition “Students and Intellectual Property Rights 2024” took place at the Turtle Hall, Can Tho University. After intense and thrilling rounds of competition, the team from the Faculty of Law-Nam Can Tho University delivered an outstanding performance and claimed the First Prize overall.
The competition was co-organized by Can Tho University and the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City with the aim of raising awareness about intellectual property rights among students from universities and colleges across the city. The contest featured two categories: individual and team competition. Throughout the rounds, participating teams demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of intellectual property law, strong teamwork, and impressive presentation skills.
At this year’s competition, the team from Nam Can Tho University, particularly students from class DH21LUA01, impressed both the judges and the audience with their outstanding performance. In addition to winning the First Prize overall, DNC students also received several other awards including:
- 1 First Prize – Team Category (awarded to the team from class DH21LUA01)
- 1 Consolation Prize – Team Category (also awarded to the team from class DH21LUA01)
- 1 Second Prize – Individual Category (awarded to student Trần Vũ Khoa, class DH21LUA01)
- 1 Consolation Prize – Individual Category (awarded to student Hồng Anh Thư, class DH21LKT01)
- 2 Awards for Most Accurate Audience Responses
Achieving top results in the competition is not only a source of pride for the students of the Faculty of Law, but also a testament to the quality of education at Nam Can Tho University. This competition serves as a meaningful and enriching platform for Law students. It not only provides an opportunity to engage with legal regulations in the field of intellectual property, but also fosters exchange and learning among students from various universities and colleges. Through the competition, students had the opportunity to develop essential soft skills such as:
Argumentation and debating skills: Students practiced presenting their opinions and defending their viewpoints in a logical and persuasive manner.
Teamwork skills: Throughout the preparation and competition process, students learned how to collaborate effectively, delegate tasks, and work together toward a common goal.
Critical thinking skills: The competition helped students enhance their ability to analyze and evaluate issues objectively, and to propose creative solutions.
The success of students from Nam Can Tho University in particular, and from universities and colleges across the city in general, is the result of students’ tireless efforts, the dedicated guidance of their lecturers, and the enthusiastic support of their entire institutions. This achievement serves as a powerful source of motivation for students to continue striving for excellence, developing themselves, and contributing meaningfully to the progress of the community.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Organizing Committee for creating such a meaningful and rewarding platform for students from universities and colleges across Can Tho City. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the lecturers of the Faculty of Law and fellow students who attended the event and gave their enthusiastic support. This provided strength, confidence, and motivation that helped the Nam Can Tho University team claim the championship title.
